- I have been a seasonal vet nurse for Cambridge Equine for 3 foaling seasons and have been full time since 2022. Duties included both vet nursing roles as well as admin/accounts.
- Cleaning and disinfecting exam areas, surgical equipment and stables to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Preparing surgical instrument packs and drapes for use in sterile environments by processing in autoclave.
- Administering medications to animals, treating and documenting any changes in the animals condition.
- Assisting veterinarians with the preparation for surgical procedures,radiographs and ultrasounds.
- Creating invoices, receiving payments and allocating the correct amounts paid to customer accounts.
- Answering phones which involved organizing vets diaries with the relative equipment needed for jobs and helping customers with questions regarding their accounts.
- Operate telephone switchboard to answer, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments.
- Create, maintain, and enter information into databases.
- Bank reconciliation, ensuring that at the end of the day the accounts balance, printing cut over on eftpos machines.
