Storage System Deployment & Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain NAS systems (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, etc.).
• Create and manage storage volumes, aggregates, LUNs, shares (NFS/SMB/CIFS).
• Configure RAID levels, snapshots, deduplication, compression, and tiering.

Data Protection & Backup

• Implement backup/restore strategies using snapshots, replication, or third-party backup tools.
• Manage disaster recovery (DR) solutions including asynchronous/synchronous replication.
• Ensure proper retention, versioning, and recovery testing.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Monitor storage health, performance, and capacity usage.
• Troubleshoot congestion, latency, I/O bottlenecks, or hardware failures.
• Optimize performance via caching, workload distribution, or QoS settings.

Maintenance & Lifecycle Management

• Apply firmware/OS updates, patches, and perform routine maintenance.
• Manage storage lifecycle planning (capacity forecasts, upgrades, replacements).
• Conduct hardware repairs or coordinate vendor support (RMA, diagnostics).

Integration & Automation

• Integrate NAS systems with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Automate workflows (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) for provisioning and monitoring.
• Support storage provisioning for servers, applications, databases, or big data systems.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain documentation: configurations, network diagrams, DR procedures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in audits and security assessments.
• Conducted NAS systems audits for security, identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing best practices.

On-Call - On-Duty Support

• Ability to quickly diagnose issues under time pressure.
• Familiarity with logs, monitoring tools, system alerts, error messages.
• Choose the safest immediate fix to restore service quickly.
• Communicate clearly with users, internal teams, and other responders.
• Handle situations calmly even during major outages.
• Provide polite, professional communication even under pressure.
• Take ownership of incidents until resolution or proper escalation.
• Follow through on temporary fixes with permanent resolutions later.
