As a Financial Analyst I was responsible for the financial management of service contracts in the Netherlands. I supported a portfolio of several major clients, including some of the highest-revenue accounts in the region. My work involved forecasting, revenue and cost analysis, contract-level profit tracking, and month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
I worked closely with project managers, sales teams, executives, and business operations leaders to ensure financial forecasts were accurate, risks and opportunities were identified, and key performance indicators such as revenue, cost, and gross profit were reported on time. During financial closings, I operated under tight deadlines, preparing daily reports, validating financial data, and presenting updates directly to the CFO. I also reviewed and processed accruals, deferrals, cost reallocations, and financial impacts of contract changes.
One of my responsibilities was managing and certifying financial backlogs — determining whether project revenue was on track or required adjustment, and ensuring expired or ending contracts were properly reviewed, extended, or written off if needed.
Throughout my role, I worked extensively in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and corporate financial systems to run reports, analyze data, and support both regular reporting cycles and ad hoc requests.
Several years at IBM I served as a dedicated Contract Specialist for the key account of IKEA, supporting multiple IKEA entities including Inter IKEA, IKEA of Sweden, and IKEA IT AB across the Nordic region. My role involved the full operational administration of the services contract-from onboarding to billing, ensuring seamless coordination between IBM and IKEA.
I was responsible for loading and maintaining contract data in internal systems, enabling accurate time entry and billing for all resources working under the IKEA contract. I processed and released monthly invoices, generated custom financial and operational reports, and supported audit and compliance checks.
I worked closely with Project Managers, Business Operations Managers, and sellers to ensure data accuracy and contract compliance. While my direct communication with IKEA was limited to specific escalations and clarifications, I played a key role in maintaining consistent service quality.
In the later years of my role, I was actively involved in the migration from the legacy CFTS system to SAP. I participated in user testing, supported data migration, and provided post-deployment troubleshooting. I also trained new team members and developed improvements in work processes such as helping develop an internal tool that automated PDF invoice specification generation, reducing manual workload and increasing efficiency.
As a Purchasing Manager I was responsible for the full procurement cycle, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials required for both internal stock and customer orders. I collaborated closely with suppliers across the Europe and China to negotiate favorable terms, secure reliable delivery schedules, and maintain optimal inventory levels. My role demanded strong communication and negotiation skills, along with a strategic mindset for cost-saving initiatives and vendor relationship management.
