Sales & Distribution Manager

The Manager, Sales & Distribution is responsible for all sales activities including the
agency and direct channels with a focus on customer engagement, revenue generation, channel
penetration, and brand visibility. This position oversees sales growth and customer retention. The Manager, Sales & Distribution oversees all revenue generation for the Palliser Insurance organization with a typical revenue goal of $60M per annum.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Works with the CRO to develop strategic sales plan and goals that expands Palliser's direct and agent customer bases. Analyzes data on past performance and uses analytical skills to project future performance to acquire new customers.
  • Achieves growth and hits sales targets. Turns sales strategy into executable operational plans that includes using direct sales techniques and develops b2b/marketing campaigns. Develops and oversees customer sales funnel.
  • Responsible for managing the agent channel including onboarding and progress of new agents. Maintains and builds strong relationships and find new agents for Palliser. Monitors and conducts regular reviews of broker/agent performance to ensure a high-performance sales team. Oversees agent cancellation based on agent sales performance.
  • Develops and executes business development plans and activities to acquire new customers through online direct offering.
  • Works with Brand & Marketing team on advertising strategy that supports the sales strategy.
  • Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and adheres to Palliser's published Complaint Resolution Policy as required.
  • Prepares the sales budget and monitors the budget throughout the fiscal cycle.
  • Monitors customer preferences and the competition to determine the focus of sales efforts, tracks sales metrics, analyzes sales statistics, and project sales and the profitability of products and services. Collaborates cross functionally with the Brand & Marketing Coordinator, Underwriting Manager, and the Finance departments in this regard.
  • Responsible for the development of onboarding and ongoing training programs for brokers and agents.
  • Works closely with executive team to conduct, interpret, and create actionable strategies around customer surveys.
  • Acts as a role model who supports a positive organizational culture including the promotion and demonstration of Palliser's values.
  • Presentation of Sales and Marketing data to senior leadership team as required.
  • Development and review of CRM tools and infrastructure to enhance efficiency, and support growth.

Field Safety Specialist (Segment Manager)

After successfully being promoted into the Field Safety Specialist role for Saskatchewan I immediately oversaw the safety segment for all of Saskatchewan and central Alberta as well as the development of our Account Manager team consisting of 16 sellers. The safety category is Grainger Canada's largest segment within the prairie provinces and accounts for over $40M in annual revenue for which I was responsible. Within this role I was also responsible for team member development (vendor training, course creation, safety acumen development) as well as being an added resource for our customers across the territory. While in this role I also worked quite closely with local & provincial management teams.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Investigated incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Educated employees on hazardous waste management, emergency response and safe work practices.
  • Performed safety analyses to evaluate potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Researched and devised new safety initiatives and strategies to improve safety performance.
  • Manage safety market - ensure consistent YOY growth of segment through acquisition/growth of client book.
